Circuit design and layout

For the classical circuit designs and the corresponding layouts we are using the most recent version of Altium Designer. The used libraries are generated and maintained by us, so we know the content details and references, allowing to keep the libraries content traceable.

The unobtrusive, daily tools are often extremely
precious, because they allow the continuous traceabililty of the established designs.

Circuit design, Schematic. For complex systems the schematics of the complete design inside Altium Designer organized in hierarchical order. This eases the handling and the readability of the overall design.

Circuit Design, Layout. In case the used elements have 3D bodies, is it possible to visualize the developed layout as a 3D model. This allows to virtually mount the major elements and to verify the final mounted situation at an early stage.

Antenna development

For many years we have been active in the design, construction and optimization of different antenna structures. The already built antenna types are heterogenicly spread among the possible families. Some typical examples are:
  • LogPer antenna 100MHz to 2.5GHz
  • Crossed-LogPer antenna made in inox
  • Railway antenna 790MHz to 6GHz, in frequency bands, including type approval DIN EN50155
  • Linear polarized patch antenna
  • Circular polarized patch antenna, some of them multiband
  • Helix antenna 2GHz
  • PIFA PCB antenna in different styles
  • Horn antenna, narrow band and broadband designs
  • Electrical small antennas integrated into products

: A selection of two are:

Multiband railway antenna. The railway antenna has additionally an integrated GPS antenna as addition and here the whole assembly is tested in our anechoic chamber.

Multiband patch antenna. The antenna is used as feed system of a parabolic dish antenna. The polarization is circular and the two phases are fed separately. The center frequency is at 2.15GHz.

Dualband PCB-antenna. The antenna is used in a mobile unit and operates in two ISM bands below 1GHz. Displayed here is the simulated far field at 400MHz, where we see the peaks and nulls of the radiation pattern. The feeding point is at the number combination 11.

Dualband PCB-Antenna. The antenna is used in a mobile unit and operates in two ISM bands below 1GHz. Displayed here is the simulated far field at 900MHz. Due to the large size of the structure in relation to the wave length the structure forms a pattern with multiple peaks and constrictions.

High frequency circuit design using simulation tools

Simulation tool MWO. The circuit is made with elements that are based on a RF model description. Depending on the element this model description is linear or non-linear.

Simulation tool MWO. Due to the unified database the layout is generated in parallel, while drawing the schematic. Therefore is the additionally required work to finalize the layout is very small, only by adding some small supplements.

Simulation tool AXIEM. In the 3D view the mesh or the surface currents can be displayed. By using the circuit extraction function electromagnetic (EM)-structures can very easily be derived from the existing layout.

Simulation tool VSS. Typically transmission systems, receivers, radar systems or antenna arrays are simulated with VSS. Specific for receivers are bit error rates or the constellation diagram of the modulated carrier displayed.
